Sentencing has been deferred on a paramedic who admitted stealing painkillers from his ambulance.
Colin Girvan, 45, admitted taking morphine, diazemuls and entenox from his vehicle and an ambulance base at Croilan Road while based in Kingussie between October 29, 2013 and December 6, 2013 last month.
He also admitted stealing a demand valve and tubing from the ambulance.
He was due to be sentenced yesterday but Sheriff Margaret Neilson deferred the decision for a further background report to be produced.
The court heard that Girvan, formerly of 2 Ruthven Court, Kingussie, has now moved to an address in Cumnock, East Ayrshire.
At the earlier court hearing, fiscal depute Stella Swan told the court that Girvan was in charge of the ambulance and accessed the morphine which was kept in a safe in 10mg vials.
She added: “It seems this offence stems from a drug issue on his part.”
Girvan will reappear in court on October 30.
