A north man offered a teenage boy £10 to perform a sex act on him after accosting him at a busy shopping centre.
Craig Jappy admitted the offence when he appeared on indictment at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
The 27-year-old, of 49 Queen Street, Invergordon, was placed on the sex offenders register and will be sentenced on November 6.
Fiscal depute Roderick Urquhart told the court that the 15-year-old was at the Eastgate Shopping Centre with other youngsters on September 21 last year.
While the teenager was in the centre’s food court, Jappy leaned over to the boy and offered him £10 to perform a sex act. The boy agreed to this.
The boy later told one of the other youngsters that he felt he had prostituted himself and was complaining that he did not get paid.
Mr Urquhart added: “Police got to know what had happened in a convoluted way via a rumour which reached the ears of a parent after messages were passed between the youngsters.”
