A former Big Issue seller, who admitted pestering a woman, has been given a last chance to comply with an order banning him from contacting his victim.
Sheriff Richard Davidson told Robert Bloomfield he was disappointed to learn he had broken a harassment order by making a telephone call to the woman while under the influence of drink, even though he hung up before she answered.
He was also concerned to hear that the 55-year-old was drinking again.
But the sheriff said he was otherwise satisfied that Bloomfield was making good progress after being placed under supervision for three years in April.
Following a hearing at Fort William Sheriff Court yesterday, he continued the community payback order and the breach of the harassment order to a further review on January 6.
Bloomfield, of 43 Blar Mhor, Caol, Fort William, admitted causing the woman fear and alarm at an earlier court hearing.
He repeatedly approached and contacted his victim, followed her, shouted at her and grabbed hold of her when she did not want any contact with him in Union Street, High Street and Middle Street, Fort William, between June 10-19 last year.
Sheriff Davidson imposed a three-year-community payback order.
