A man has appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court charged with attempted murder after a 61-year-old man suffered serious injuries in an alleged attack.
Maciej Lisowski appeared in private following the incident in the Park Street area of Aberdeen, close to Lemon Place.
The 21-year-old is also charged under Section 49 of the Criminal Law Scotland Act over the possession of a blade or a sharply pointed article.
Maciej made no plea at the behind-closed-doors hearing and was committed for further examination.
He gave an address in Aberdeen and was remanded in custody.
Man believed to have been stabbed
Officers said the man sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
It’s believed he was stabbed more than a dozen times.
‘Not in keeping with the area’
Speaking after the incident, Aberdeen City Council Harbour and George Street councillor, Michael Hutchison, urged anyone with information to “support the police as fully as possible” with their inquiries.
“I am shocked to hear the extent of what has been described. I do hope the victim makes a full recovery.”
