A woman has been ordered to pay Semichem £23 in compensation after stealing wax melts from the Mastrick store.
Lisa McPhee, or Baxter, stole the items, which are similar to a candle and give off a pleasant aroma, from the Semichem branch on Greenfern Place in Mastrick on November 2 2020.
The 48-year-old pled guilty to a charge of shoplifting when she appeared in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
John Ferrie, Baxter’s solicitor, said the wax melts were worth £23 and were not recovered.
But he explained his client was well on her way to turning her life around and was no longer on a methadone prescription for the “first time in an awful long time”.
He also said she had not come to the attention of police at all since the offence.
Sheriff Donald Ferguson fined Baxter, of Cruden Crescent, Aberdeen, £90 and ordered her to pay £23 compensation to Semichem.
He added: “I understand you have turned things around, so that’s why I have imposed such a small fine, but make sure you don’t return to court.”
