A man ordered to keep away from his girlfriend’s Aberdeen home was caught hiding under a bed after police heard his “heavy breathing”.
Daniel Robertson was caught breaching a court bail order after police were called to a disturbance and reports of a woman screaming and crying within a home at Wallfield Place.
When they arrived they found the 37-year-old waste management worker hiding under the bed and breathing loudly, Aberdeen Sheriff Court was told.
Robertson spent the night behind bars and appeared in the dock from custody.
His defence agent admitted his client “knew fine well” he shouldn’t be there as the bail condition was imposed last July and remains in place until his sentencing for another matter later this month.
‘He had been breathing heavily’
Fiscal depute Kiril Bonavino said police found three people in the Wallfield Place flat when they were called there just after 7pm on Sunday night.
“They found the accused hiding under a bed,” he added. “They managed to find him as he had been breathing heavily.
“A check on him found he had been given special conditions not to enter the entirety of Wallfield Place.”
Robertson’s defence agent Iain McGregor said he had been in his girlfriend’s flat and “knew fine well he shouldn’t have been anywhere near Wallfield Place.”
Released to allow him to work
He asked for sentencing to be deferred and for Robertson to be released on bail for fear his waste management job would be put at risk.
Robertson, of Great Northern Road, admitted the breach of bail and Sheriff Philip Mann deferred sentencing until next month.
