A man has appeared in court after being caught with cocaine concealed in a Kinder egg.
Matthew McDonald was pulled over on the AWPR near Blackdog by officers following a tip-off.
When the 21-year-old was searched, officers discovered heroin and cocaine – some of which was hidden in a Kinder egg.
Fiscal depute Alan Townsend told Aberdeen Sheriff Court police stopped McDonald around 1.20am on February 21 last year.
He said: “Police on mobile patrol on the A90 saw the accused’s vehicle travelling on the AWPR southbound.
“There was police intelligence in relation to the vehicle. It was stopped and the accused was cautioned and detained.”
McDonald has ‘sorted himself out’ since offences
A search then uncovered £70 of cocaine, some of which was stored inside a Kinder egg, and £20 of heroin.
McDonald, of Buchanness Drive, Boddam, admitted being in possession of cocaine and heroin.
Defence agent Stephanie Milligan said her client, a qualified mechanic, had been mixing with the “wrong crowd” at the time of the offence.
She added he had now “sorted himself out” and was no longer involved with the same people or drugs.
Sheriff Craig Findlater deferred sentence until July for reports.
