A man kicked out of Soul for “annoying” customers has been fined after punching a bouncer in the face.
Allan Sutherland initially complied as he was escorted to the city centre venue’s outer gate, but then “became agitated”.
The 44-year-old began to shout and swear at door staff before throwing a punch, leaving one of the bouncers with a cut lip.
Fiscal depute Dylan Middleton told Aberdeen Sheriff Court: “At 11.55pm on December 3 2021, the accused was within Soul Bar and was noted to be annoying other patrons and was requested by security to leave.
“He was escorted to the outer gate, then became agitated and began shouting at door staff.”
‘His recollection of events is not great’
Sutherland then threw a punch which connected with a bouncer’s face, resulting in him sustaining a cut to his lip.
He was restrained to the ground until nearby police officers were able to attend.
Sutherland, of Dunnydeer Gardens, Insch, pled guilty to a charge of assault to injury.
Defence agent Neil McRobert said his client had had “too much alcohol” during a night out, adding: “His recollection of events is not great.
“He does remember being escorted from the premises and accepts acting in the manner libelled.”
Mr McRobert said Sutherland was remorseful of his actions.
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin ordered him to pay a fine totalling £640.
