A 16-year-old drug dealer was caught with ecstasy and cannabis when police were called to a “party address” in Aberdeen.
Callum Farr, who is now 19, was snared when officers swooped on the property at Morven Court, Aberdeen.
In addition to finding the drugs, police also examined Farr’s phone and found messages indicative of being involved in the supply of illegal substances.
Fiscal depute Dylan Middleton told Aberdeen Sheriff Court police visited the address over an unrelated matter at 5.20pm on March 19 2019.
‘He was making foolish decisions’
Farr, who is now a full-time chef, was within the property and was searched by police.
He was found to be in possession of various plastic bags containing pills and suspected cannabis, as well as scales and empty self-seal bags.
While en route to Kittybrewster station, Farr supplied officers with the PIN code to his phone.
An examination of the device uncovered “several text messages between the accused and other persons which implicated him in being concerned in the sale and supply of controlled drugs”.
Mr Middleton told the court the cannabis recovered was worth £15, and the 15 ecstasy tablets were valued at £150.
Farr, of Millden, Balmedie, pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of cannabis and ecstasy between February 19 and March 19 2019.
‘The arrest was a big wake-up call for him’
Defence agent Debbie Ginniver said her client was just 16 when the offences were committed and was “associating with a particularly negative peer group” at the time.
She said: “The address he was found at was known to essentially be a party address.
“At the time, he was making foolish decisions and not appreciating the ramifications of his actions.
“He’s made a lot of positive changes since this offence. He’s grown up a lot.
“He no longer uses substances or associates with the same peer group.
“The arrest was a big wake-up call for him and he has no intention of repeating this behaviour or coming to the attention of the courts again.”
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin handed Farr 150 hours of unpaid work and ordered him to be supervised for 12 months.
