An Amazon delivery driver has admitted sending racist and threatening text messages in which he spoke of shooting Muslims, who he believed were going to “take over”.
Nicholas Bain called Muslims “suspicious bigots” and said he would use his Amazon delivery driver pass to “get close to the target”.
The 38-year-old, from Aberdeen, also outlined a bizarre plan to run for Mayor of London.
The “concerning” thread of messages was read out to Aberdeen Sheriff Court, where Bain appeared from custody having failed to turn up for a previous calling of the case.
Fiscal depute Emma Petersen said Bain first created the group chat on November 10 last year and added his then-boss from the courier firm where he worked.
Bain wrote: “I see the Muslims have changed their name to refugees because apparently it makes it easier for them to conquer Europe that way.
“The old way wasn’t working for them.
“There’s a nutter from Peterhead who’s away to spark a match in a school playground in Sheffield if that interests you.
“Apparently where the Muslim men congregate to thank Allah for everything the infidels provided them with.”
The rambling message then names a man who Bain claims the group can speak to if they want to “get in contact with the terrorists”.
The text continued: “Do you want to give them your country or do you want to pass it on to your children and grandchildren? It’ll be very difficult to kill but it’s not the objective.
“We need to get them out before they take over.
“It’s a means to an end and part of a bigger project.”
Threats of violence
He signs off with “Regards, Nick Bain” but then launches into a plan to become Mayor of London.
“Once we ban Muslims and blacks from voting I should be in with a chance,” he wrote.
“It’s all planned out.”
He continued: “Shoot the Muslims or I will. Until they leave.
“Just use the Amazon ID badges to get close to the targets.
“The Muslim bigots are suspicious bigots but they have to pretend that they’re friendly.
“Smash them.”
The fiscal said Bain’s former boss was “alarmed” by the message and reported it to police.
Bain, of Baxter Street, Aberdeen, admitted a charge of sending grossly offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing messages by uttering racially offensive remarks and threats of violence in the text, which was sent from the Amazon depot in Portlethen.
‘Abhorrent’ content
His defence agent Nadine Dormer said the message was “not only criminal but abhorrent in its content”.
She asked for the matter to be dealt with by way of unpaid work hours, however, Sheriff Andrew Miller insisted on background reports being ordered.
He told Bain: “It’s concerning enough I would like to know more about your personal circumstances and the factors which may have influenced your behaviour.”
Bain was granted bail and will appear back in court next month for sentencing.
