A man is set to stand trial accused of leaving another man seriously injured – by assaulting him with an onion.
Oussama Idrissi pled not guilty to a charge of assault to severe injury when the case called against him at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
The 30-year-old is alleged to have committed the vegetable-based attack at Rubislaw Park Care Home on November 24 2020.
The charge states he assaulted the man by throwing an onion at him, which struck him on the head, causing him to fall to the ground to his severe injury.
Trial fixed for next month
It is understood the incident did not involve a resident at the care home.
The man is believed to have suffered a fracture to his cheekbone.
Idrissi, of Faulds Crescent, Aberdeen, was not personally present when the case called today but pled not guilty through solicitor Mike Monro.
Sheriff Margaret Hodge continued the case to trial next month.
