More than two dozen police officers forced their way into homes in Aberdeen during a crackdown on drug dealing.
Four properties which were linked with anti-social behaviour and the supply of drugs were targeted with search warrants.
Three police vans and other vehicles travelled in convoy to the addresses in Torry.
Officers wearing full body armour and protective helmets with visors were seen breaking through doors with battering rams.
The early morning intelligence-led operation came after Police Scotland received information from concerned members of the community.
WATCH: ‘Police, stay where you are!’
Police Constable Chris Cowley told the Press and Journal: “This is part of our ongoing commitment to keep drugs off the streets and support anyone who needs it”.
The action focused on four areas, including:
- Balnagask Circle
- Morven Court
- Farquhar Road
- Oscar Road
Three properties were raided at the same time after a briefing outside Kittybrewster Police Office this morning.
Following yesterday’s operation, police confirmed that a 29-year-old man was reported for alleged drugs offences and offensive weapons were seized.
A dog which appeared to be living in poor conditions was also discovered in a ground-floor flat at Balnagask Circle.
The animal welfare issues were referred to the SSPCA for further investigation.
Up to 70 people identified as potential victims of cuckooing – the practice of taking over the homes of vulnerable people to use them as bases for drug dealing – will be visited over the next few days.
PC Cowley explained: “We work closely with partners such as housing providers and social work to ensure anyone affected by drugs are fully supported in taking proactive and positive steps going forward.”
Detective Constable Niall Sutherland added: “Today’s action demonstrates that Police Scotland remains committed to disrupting those involved in antisocial and criminal behaviour.
“This operation further demonstrates Police Scotland’s commitment to utilise a range of specialisms in order to achieve this.”
He urged anyone who is worried about drugs to contact Police Scotland by calling 101 or contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
