A man has been handed a supervision order after sexually assaulting two teenage girls at an Aberdeen house party.
Michael Livingstone, 26, groped his victims, aged 16 and 17, during a social gathering at an address in Aberdeen in July last year.
He sexually assaulted the younger girl by placing his hand beneath her lower clothing, pulling down her lower clothing and touching her buttocks.
Livingstone sexually assaulted the 17-year-old by touching her leg, placing his hand under her lower clothing and touching her body.
‘He consumed a large quantity of drugs and alcohol’
Livingstone, of Alexander Terrace, Aberdeen, pled guilty to two charges of sexual assault previously and has now returned to the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court to be sentenced.
Defence agent Iain McGregor acknowledged that, in a court-ordered social work report, his client had “denied any culpability”.
However, he added: “Having discussed matters with him this morning, he has indicated to me he does accept full responsibility.”
Mr McGregor went on: “He attended this party. He clearly accepts he consumed a large quantity of drugs and alcohol.”
He described Livingstone’s recollection of the offences as “somewhat vague”.
Sheriff William Summers told Livingstone: “The offences are troubling because of the circumstances in which they took place and because of the difference in age between you and the two victims.”
The sheriff imposed a community payback order as a direct alternative to custody, with three years of supervision and a requirement to undertake the Moving Forward, Making Changes programme.
He also made him subject to the notification requirements of the Sexual Offences Act for three years.
