A man who mooned householders through their window and then made a remark about killing children has been placed under social work supervision.
Maximilian Roberts-Dineen was handed a community payback order with 18 months supervision at Tain Sheriff Court.
He had previously pled guilty to a single charge of threatening of abusive behaviour.
“He then shook his bare backside from side to side,” fiscal depute Hilary Michopoulou said.
The 33-year-old went on to swear at a man in the street and called him “w**ker” before shouting at a grandmother who was in her garden with her baby granddaughter.
Soon after this Roberts-Dineen was spotted near the village playpark, still acting erratically, causing a bystander to pick up a small child and lift them over a fence to keep them out of his way.
Man made ‘kill the kids’ comment
Bystanders then heard Roberts Dineen make a comment that “we” or “they” should “kill the kids”
Police were called and arrested the “visibly agitated” Roberts-Dineen at his home. He continued shouting, swearing and making threatening comments as he was taken to Burnett Road Police Station in Inverness
Solicitor Rory Gowans said there were concerns over his client’s mental health.
Roberts-Dineen was not present when the case called for sentencing at Tain Sheriff Court, but Sheriff Gary Aitken said that he was content to deal with it in his absence, following the recommendations of a criminal justice social work report.
He placed Roberts-Dineen, who now lives in supported accommodation in Muir of Ord, on a community payback order with 18 months supervision and set an initial review of the order for three months’ time.
