Adem Cetiner, 28, was also fined £400 at Inverness Sheriff Court after admitting the offence. Cetiner, of 57b Church Street, Inverness, was stopped by police at Stoneyfield on the A96 on the outskirts of the city. Fiscal depute Michelle Molley told the court that Cetiner initially failed to stop after police signalled him to do so using lights and sirens. He eventually stopped after five minutes and was asked to take a breathalyser test. Ms Molley said: “He stated ‘I don’t do it Turkey so I don’t do it here’.” Cetiner also admitted driving without insurance by driving the car on a provisional licence without supervision. Defence agent Willie Young said that his client had an unblemished record before the incident.
