A 27-year-old Fortrose man appeared before a sheriff for the third time in a week after assaulting a bouncer on Saturday night.
Zen Etchells, of Station Road, appeared from custody at Inverness Sheriff Court and admitted assaulting a member of door staff at Gunsmiths in Union Street, Inverness.
Fiscal depute Victoria Silver said that Etchells approached the man, pushed him from behind and then started shouting and swearing.
‘This is the third time I have seen him in a week’
Ms Silver added: “The member of door staff put his hand up to protect himself and Etchells threatened to knock him out, grabbed him by the shoulders and tried to punch him.
“But he missed so began to struggle violently with him.”
‘Recent spate of alleged offending’
Sheriff Robert Frazer told Etchells’ defence solicitor, Duncan Henderson: “This is the third time I have seen him in a week.”
Mr Henderson acknowledged the comment and added that his client was awaiting a drug treatment and testing order assessment which should be ready for July 28.
Sheriff Frazer deferred sentence on the new matter until then but remanded Etchells in custody given the “recent spate of alleged offending”.
