A jilted boyfriend threatened to go round to his ex-partner’s house with a baseball bat and said her face would “never look the same again”, a court has heard.
Krystian Wielgosz called and texted his ex-girlfriend more than 100 times in the space of just one afternoon, once he found out she had a new boyfriend.
The 29-year-old called her insulting names and threatened to come to her Aberdeen home with a baseball bat, unless she answered his calls.
The court heard how the father-of-two threatened the mother of his kids that “her face would never look the same” if she didn’t speak to him.
Fiscal depute Kirsty Martin said the messages began at around 1am on July 9 this year and started after Wielgosz learned of his ex’s new relationship.
“Between 1am and 6.45am, she received over 50 messages through WhatsApp, which she didn’t reply to,” she said. “Throughout this time, he also phoned her about 50 times. Again, she didn’t answer any of those calls.”
‘You will never look the same again’
The next day, the text exchange became more amicable as they discussed child visitations but that evening, things turned sour again.
“The tone of the messages changed,” the fiscal added. “He sent messages to her referring to her as a whore and a slut and stating he would come round to her address with a baseball bat.”
That threat was repeated in a voicemail where Wielgosz said: “Pick up the phone…pick up the f****** phone. I will come to that Kincorth and grab that face and you will never look the same again.
“Do you understand that? You little whore? Like mother like daughter.”
The woman was left “disturbed and alarmed” by the number of calls and texts he fired at her and felt “threatened” by their content, Aberdeen Sheriff Court was told.
Wislgosz, who appeared from custody, admitted a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour, in that he repeatedly contacted the woman and made derogatory remarks, threats and threats of violence with a baseball bat.
Defence agent Tony Burgess said his client had taken the news of the new relationship badly and had been drunk on both occasions when he made contact.
“They have two kids together and have known each other for 10 years,” he said. “He was given an impression over a period of time by the complainer that, if he got his act together, they would get back together.
“On the Friday evening, she told him that was not happening and she had a new partner.”
‘Deeply regrets his behaviour’
He said his client “deeply regrets his behaviour” and had refused to listen back to the voicemail recording during a police interview, “such was his embarrassment” about his conduct.
Wielgosz, of Beattie Place, Aberdeen, was granted bail by Sheriff Lesley Johnston, who deferred sentence for the preparation of background reports and a restriction of liberty order assessment.
