A drug dealer who was caught by police with more than £2,000 worth of cannabis in a car told officers “oh, that’s mine”.
Darren Small, 32, appeared in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and admitted being concerned in the supply of cannabis after he was caught with thousands of pounds of the drug.
Officers found several bags that contained more than £2,000 of cannabis.
After being taken into custody, Small threatened a police officer, stating: “I’ll find out where you live.”
Police found several bags containing drugs
Fiscal depute Victoria Kerr told the court that a vehicle had come to the attention of police and was stopped on March 19 last year.
“It was noticed that there was a strong smell of cannabis coming from all persons and the motor car,” she said.
“All occupants were detained for a drugs search and from the car police seized a paper bag containing green herbal substance in addition to three other bags containing the same substance.
“Upon this being lifted out of the car the accused stated under caution ‘oh, that’s mine’ or words to that effect.
“A cannabis joint was also found amongst some mobile phones alongside £270 in cash.
“The accused was subsequently cautioned and arrested.”
Accused threatened police constable
While in police custody at Kittybrewster Police Station, Small began shouting and swearing at a constable, stating “I’ll find out where you live and you’re going to f**king get it.”
The bags were tested and found to be 127.5 grams of cannabis with a maximum street value of £2,100.
Small pleaded guilty to one charge of being concerned in the supply of cannabis and a further charge of behaving in a threatening manner and uttering threats while in police custody.
Defence agent Alex Burn asked the court to carry out background reports on his client.
Sheriff Miller deferred sentence on Small, of Tollohill Crescent, Aberdeen, in order for a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty order assessment to be carried out.
