A 19-year-old man is facing an allegation that he uploaded a video of himself and a woman engaging in a sexual act to Snapchat.
Charles Milne is accused of one charge of intending to cause “fear alarm or distress” by uploading the footage to the popular social media app without the woman’s consent.
It is claimed the video was uploaded from an address in Aberdeen last month.
The charge states that Milne disclosed a video that appeared to show himself and the woman in an “intimate situation”.
It further alleges that the footage had been uploaded to Snapchat without her consent.
Snapchat, an American instant messaging app, allows users to share pictures and videos with other users.
Pair were engaging in ‘private sexual act’
Milne is accused of uploading the video of the pair “engaging in a private sexual act” to his Snapchat account on August 17 this year.
The charge states that the video had previously never been made public.
It is claimed in doing so he intended to cause the woman “fear, alarm or distress”.
It also states that he may have been “reckless” in whether the video being made public would upset her.
Milne, of Havana Street, Glasgow, will appear again at Aberdeen Sheriff Court next month to enter a plea.
