A 47-year-old sex offender was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work after an image of a young girl was found on his computer.
Sentence had been deferred for a background report on Steven Macdonald, of 6 Buchanan Court, Station Road, Dingwall, who admitted the charge and previous convictions of a similar nature.
Defence solicitor Neil Wilson said: “My client has previous analogous offending and he can’t see the harm in what he has done. That is not going to change.
“He is currently on the sex offenders register until 2016 and he is not allowed to access the internet.”
Sheriff Margaret Neilson also ordered that Macdonald remain under supervision and on the register until 2018 and participate in a sex offenders rehabilitation programme.
