A drink-driver smashed into a central reservation in the early hours of the morning while more than four times the alcohol limit.
Sarah Hepburn, 26, collided with a central reservation on the Lang Stracht just after 4am.
The incident was reported to police when a member of the public spotted the crash scene.
Fiscal depute Sean Ambrose told Aberdeen Sheriff Court: “Approximately 4.10am on September 10, witnesses were driving west on the Lang Stracht and observed the accused’s vehicle which had crashed into a central reservation.”
Witnesses saw Hepburn in the driver’s seat and contacted police.
GP’s letter provided ‘significant mitigation’
When officers arrived, a breath test was carried out which returned a positive result for alcohol.
Hepburn, of Orkney Avenue, Aberdeen, pled guilty to driving with 94 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 22 microgrammes.
Defence agent Charlie Benzies said his client had pled guilty at the “first chance” and would be “more than willing” to complete the drink-drivers’ rehabilitation course.
He added she had been going through a “catastrophic” period in her life and had problems “coming at her from various angles”.
Mr Benzies handed the sheriff a letter from her GP which was not read out in open court.
Sheriff Lesley Johnston said: “I accept that what’s said in there provides significant mitigation.”
She fined Hepburn £420 and banned her from driving for 12 months.
