A man has appeared in court charged with carrying an imitation firearm after being arrested by armed police in Aberdeen.
Firearms officers swooped to arrest a 35-year-old man on George Street “in connection with an incident of threatening behaviour”.
It came after police received a call from a business premises on Union Street around 1.45pm on Thursday.
A dramatic video posted on social media of the arrest speculated that there had been a shooting, but it has been confirmed this is not the case.

Now, Donnie Heanan, 35, has appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in connection with the incident.
He faced a string of charges, including allegations he carried an imitation firearm and acted in a threatening or abusive manner.
No shooting took place during the incident
Heanan, of Aberdeen, is also charged with vandalism and two charges of shoplifting.
He made no plea during the behind-closed-doors hearing and was remanded in custody while the case against him was committed for further examination.
The case is set to call again within the next eight days.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged on George Street, Aberdeen, in connection with an incident of threatening behaviour.
“A report was made to police around 1.45pm on Thursday, October 27, from a business premises on Union Street, Aberdeen.”
