A vandal who spraypainted mysterious graffiti on the walls of Aberdeen University buildings has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Finn Eamon, known as Eve Crawford, vandalised walls at the university’s MacRobert building and William Guild building and was swiftly caught in the act by security staff.
The 23-year-old’s graffiti is thought to be in Japanese but nobody has yet been able to decipher it.
Fiscal depute David Rogers told Aberdeen Sheriff Court: “Around 11am on November 10 2021, security guards were made aware by members of staff that the accused was spraypainting walls.
Crawford fled the scene upon seeing the security staff
“They checked CCTV and saw the accused spraypainting a wall of the William Guild building and walking towards the MacRobert building.”
The security guards searched the area and caught Crawford in the act.

Mr Rogers told the court the spraypainting appeared to be in Japanese.
Crawford, of Wingate Road, Aberdeen, pled guilty to a charge of vandalism.
Her defence agent Charlie Benzies said: “It seems to be she was having difficulties in her life at the time.
“She is more than willing to do some unpaid work if that’s deemed appropriate.”
Already has unpaid work to do
Crawford is already working through two community payback orders including one imposed in October after telling neighbours she would “kill them all”.
Sheriff Lesley Johnston said she had been of good behaviour since this latest incident and noted that “this incident and the other matters on record were as a direct result of mental health difficulties at the time”.
She handed Crawford 60 hours of unpaid work to be completed within one year.
