A woman who “clawed” her partner’s face, neck and body during a Valentine’s Day row has been ordered to stay away from him.

Iwona Lastowska was made subject to a 12-month non-harassment order preventing her from approaching or contacting the man.

She was also fined £245 over the domestic assault, which took place earlier this year.

Lastowska, 33, appeared for sentencing at Tain Sheriff Court having previously admitted a single charge of assault with a domestic aggravation.

At an earlier hearing, fiscal depute Robyn Macleod told the court that the incident was sparked by a drunken phone call from Lastowska to her partner at work.

Row sparked by tension over drinking

She said: “There was some tension between [the complainer] and the accused who did not like her drinking.

“The witness was at work when he received a call from the accused who was clearly intoxicated.”

When he later when home an argument between him and the “very intoxicated” and “extremely angry” Lastowska erupted, during which she attacked him by “clawing with her fingernails” at his face, neck and body.

The man dialled 999, after which police arrived and detained Lastowska.

Woman who attacked partner ‘sorry’

Defence solicitor Rory Gowans told the earlier hearing that Lastowska had been upset by derogatory comments made by the man about her and her stepfather, adding that she wished to apologise.

He said she had since “taken control” of her alcohol consumption.

Sheriff Gary Aitken fined Lastowska £245 and made a 12-month non-harassment order telling her: “You must not approach or contact or attempt to approach or contact the complainer.”
