A racist man given a lift home by police on Christmas Day subjected officers to such horrific abuse they were forced to arrest him.
William Allan had been staying at the Britannia Hotel in Bucksburn when police were called on Christmas Day due to him being drunk and arguing with other customers.
It was established no crime had been committed, so officers decided to give him a lift to his Aberdeen flat to defuse the situation.
Amongst a tirade of horrific abuse, Allan, 52, made vile rape threats towards officers and was arrested.
Fiscal depute Kelly Mitchell told Aberdeen Sheriff Court police were called to the Britannia around 3.30pm due to a report of Allan being “under the influence of alcohol” and arguing with people.
She said: “There was no criminality at that time and the accused was to be taken to a different address by officers.
“The accused became agitated and began ranting about getting money from his father.”
‘You can all get raped’
Officers tried to take Allan home but he “refused” and asked to be taken to see his dad.
Ms Mitchell said: “He was taken to his father’s address but his family advised they did not wish for him to be left in their care.”
Allan again started ranting about money and officers began to take him, again, back to his own address.
However, en route, Allan started shouting incoherently and making racist comments.
He called one officer a “black b******” and said she was “going to get raped”.
Allan also called a male officer a “black b******” and said he had “evil eyes”.
‘I’m sorry’
He then threatened to spit on the female officer and choke a male officer.
On being arrested, Allan replied: “F*** you.”
A spit hood had to be applied and Allan spat inside it twice.
On arrival at the police station where Allan was formally charged and replied: “F*** it. Shag yer da.”
He continued to swear and shout sexual comments including “you can all get raped”.
He also “regurgitated phlegm” and showed it to officers, threatening to spit at them.
Allan, whose address was given in court as West North Street, Aberdeen, pled guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.
Appearing without a solicitor, he told the court: “I’m sorry.”
Sheriff Graham Buchanan deferred sentence until February for reports.
