A 36-year-old Inverness man who phoned police to falsely inform them that there was a woman in his house with a knife so he could get “a faster response”, was jailed for four months at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
Warren Findlay, of 50 Hilton Crescent, got drunk with his brother and his girlfriend on March 23 last year but fell out with them.
Fiscal depute Kelly Mitchell told the court: “He phoned to say there was a disturbance in his home and a woman had a knife. When police arrived, there was no sign of a knife and things were calm.
“A few days later he came clean and said there was no knife. He said he said it to get a faster response.”
