A man willingly handed police the keys to a flat containing nearly £25,000 in drugs after they informed him they were about to search it.
Tomasz Peczko, 30, appeared in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and admitted storing cannabis and £5,000 in cash at the property on Elmbank Terrace in Aberdeen.
Following the drug raid, police then searched Peczko’s vehicle and found an offensive weapon and some additional cannabis.
His solicitor told the court that Peczko cooperated entirely with officers once he became aware that they were going to the property.
A total of £30,330 of cannabis and cash was found.
Fiscal depute Lucy Simpson told the court that police had become aware that Peczko was involved in the supply of cannabis during February 2022.
“A search warrant was subsequently craved and granted in respect of the locus,” she said.
“It was executed on April 15 this year, during which a number of items were recovered.”
Police discovered various boxes and bags containing large quantities of cannabis, the largest being 455 grams, which could yield a maximum street value of £7,575.
They also found a number of smaller self-seal bags and plastic bags filled with cannabis which had lesser value.
In total police found nine boxes and bags of cannabis totalling £24,820.
Five sets of scales and two notepads which contained notations relating to drug transactions were found.
A carrier bag containing £5,510 in cash was also discovered in the flat.
A search of Peczko’s vehicle saw police find a retractable baton and an additional small bag of cannabis with a street value of £25.
Peczko pleaded guilty to one charge of being concerned in the supply of cannabis.
He also admitted a second charge of being in possession of an offensive weapon.
‘He cooperated fully’
Defence agent Michael Burnett told the court that police arrived at Peczko’s permanent address with a warrant for that property and the second Elmbank Terrace flat.
“The police spoke to him and his partner and explained that they were going to search a second property,” Mr Burnett said.
“He cooperated fully and gave the police the keys for the second property.”
Sheriff Andrew Miller deferred sentence on Peczko, of Froghall Avenue, Aberdeen, until next month on order for a criminal justice social work report and a restriction of liberty order assessment to be carried out.
