A man has been placed on the sex offender’s register after he sexually assaulted and propositioned a dog walker when the man’s pet ran into his home.
Girwood Anderson appeared in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and admitted grabbing the man around the hips and buttocks as he tried to retrieve his dog from the property on King Street in Aberdeen.
The court heard the shocked dog walker went home and told his wife about the assault and then received a sexually explicit Snapchat message from Anderson, 46, where he offered to carry out a sex act on the man.
Accused grabbed man when dog entered house for second time
Fiscal depute Rebecca Thompson told the court that the man took his dog out for a walk at around 2.10pm on September 9 last year.
“He took the dog out into a small garden near his address,” she said.
“The complainer saw the accused standing next to his door and as he did so he saw his dog run into the accused’s property.
“He apologised to the accused and asked if he could enter the property to get his dog, to which the accused agreed.
“The complainer entered the house and got his dog before leaving – at which point the accused asked if he could add the complainer on Snapchat, to which he replied ‘that’s fine’.”
As the two men were speaking the dog then ran into Anderson’s property a second time and his owner was once again forced to retrieve him.
The man grabbed his dog and as he was passing Anderson in the doorway he placed both his hands on the man’s hips and lower buttocks.
Sex act Snapchat messages
Shocked at the incident, the man said nothing and went home.
As he was telling his wife about the incident the man received two Snapchat picture messages from Anderson.
One included a picture of Anderson’s face, while the other was a picture of the sky with a message saying if he wanted him to perform an oral sex act on him “it’s all good”.
Anderson pleaded guilty to one charge of sexual assault and making sexual remarks.
Defence agent Iain Hignston called for background reports into his client prior to sentencing, stating: “Anything I say is better said by Mr Anderson himself to the social worker.”
Sheriff Graham Buchanan deferred sentence on Anderson, of King Street, until next month in order for a criminal justice social work report and restriction of liberty order assessment to be carried out.
The sheriff also placed Anderson on the sex offender’s register.
