A paedophile pensioner was caught after the National Child Abuse Inquiry received intelligence that indecent images of children had been uploaded from his address.
Marek Rosiak was caught with more than 100 vile sexual images of underage youngsters stashed on a tablet in his home in Turriff.
As well as more than an hour and a half worth of sickening videos, the 74-year-old first-offender also had a chat thread on the app Telegram containing child images.
Fiscal depute Carol Gammie told Aberdeen Sheriff Court the National Child Abuse Inquiry received intelligence that a device at Rosiak’s address had been used to upload indecent images of children to the internet.
A search warrant was executed just over a week later, on February 17, while Rosiak was at home and an Acer tablet device was seized.
Some images and videos were category A, the most serious kind
Ms Gammie said: “Upon examining the tablet, indecent images of children were found and the accused was cautioned and arrested and taken to Kittybrewster station.”
Further examination of the tablet later revealed downloads and Telegram folders and a chat thread containing indecent images and videos of children.
In total, just over 100 images and videos were discovered, the majority of which were category C, but including some which were category A, the most serious.
The videos had a total run time of more than an hour and a half.
Rosiak, of Station Road, Turriff, pled guilty to taking, permitting to be taken or making indecent images of children, and possession of indecent images of children.
Sheriff Ian Wallace deferred sentence for background reports.
Defence agent Peter Keene reserved mitigation until the sentencing hearing.
