A teenager has been fined after assaulting a 15-year-old girl he accused of stealing his alcohol.
Sean Hubbard, now 18, was just 16 years old when the incident happened on Frederick Street in Aberdeen.
Hubbard flew into a rage on realising someone had taken his drink and grabbed the girl by the throat.
He then pulled her into a fence before the pair were separated.
Fiscal depute Lydia Ross told Aberdeen Sheriff Court that Hubbard and the girl had been part of a larger group socialising around 6pm on August 29 2021.
Ms Ross said: “At this time, the accused blamed the complainer for stealing his alcohol, which she denied.
“The accused then grabbed the complainer by the throat with his right hand and squeezed for approximately five to 10 seconds.”
‘You’re going to have to learn you can’t act like this’
He then grabbed the girl by the chest and pulled her into a fence.
Others then intervened to stop the assault.
The girl, who was uninjured, later reported the matter to police.
Hubbard, of Arduthie Road, Stonehaven, pled guilty to a charge of assault.
Defence agent Alex Burn said his client had been drinking at the time and had little recollection of the incident.
He explained Hubbard had had a difficult upbringing and that his mother had died when he was young.
Sheriff Philip Mann told Hubbard: “I think you’re going to have to learn you can’t act like this.”
He ordered him to pay a fine totalling £320.
