Three young men have appeared in court charged in connection with an alleged attempted murder involving a knife in Aberdeen.
The trio – aged 18, 19 and 20 – are accused of wounding a man during a late-night city centre attack.
Police descended on Gaelic Lane, near Belmont Street in Aberdeen, in the early hours of Sunday morning, after reports of a serious assault.
A 40-year-old man was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries and it’s understood that the incident had involved a bladed weapon.
Two teenagers and another man have since appeared in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
James Stewart, 18, from the Warwickshire area, 19-year-old Gordon Stewart from Aberdeenshire, and Ross-shire resident Gordon Stewart, 20, all appeared before a sheriff in private on Monday.
The trio are all facing two charges of assault.
James Stewart and 20-year-old Gordon Stewart from Ross-shire are also charged with assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, danger of life and attempted murder.
And James Stewart is also charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
The three accused made no plea, were committed for further examination and released on bail.
They’re due to re-appear in court on a later date still to be confirmed.
