A man has been handed unpaid work after being caught with speakers and a PlayStation controller that were stolen from an Aberdeen flat.
Nico Esson, 26, was found with the stolen goods when police raided his home on Balnagask Circle.
The items had been stolen during a break-in at a flat at Morven Court in Aberdeen.
Fiscal depute Tom Procter told Aberdeen Sheriff Court the flat had previously been broken into and was secured with a padlock.
Police received intelligence leading them to Esson
He said: “The owner came home on August 7 2022 to find it was broken and various items were missing.”
The missing items included:
- Two watches
- A wireless router
- A PlayStation 4, controllers and games
- A Bluetooth speaker
Mr Procter said: “Police received various pieces of intelligence leading them to execute a search warrant at the accused’s address.
Unpaid work and supervision
“At the address they found the Bluetooth speaker and one of the PlayStation controllers.”
The other items, including the console and games, were not recovered.
Esson, of Balnagask Circle, Aberdeen, pled guilty to a charge of reset, essentially possession of stolen goods.
Defence agent Iain McGregor said his client accepted the circumstances surrounding the matter.
He added he had no analogous previous convictions.
Sheriff Shirley McKenna ordered him to complete 225 hours of unpaid work and imposed a 12-month supervision order.
