A woman caught with drugs started dancing in the dock and blew her solicitor a kiss after escaping punishment for the offence.
Lorna Groves admitted a charge of possession of Zopiclone, a class C drug, when she appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
Fiscal depute David Rogers said the 39-year-old was found with four tablets of the drug during the incident, which happened on August 27 2021 at her address on Tedder Street, Aberdeen.
Defence agent John Hardie explained the pills usually have a street value of £1, so the total value would be no more than £4.
‘You’re a star, John’
He explained Groves had been in an abusive relationship at the time of the offence and had no other cases ongoing.
Sheriff Margaret Hodge admonished Groves, meaning the conviction is added to her record but she does not face any further punishment.
On learning the news, Groves, who was supported by two friends in the public gallery, began to dance joyfully in the dock.
On her way out of the courtroom, she thanked her solicitor Mr Hardie and blew him a kiss.
She added: “You’re a star, John.”
