An offshore worker found with a £550,000 drugs haul in his home has been locked up.
Lee Macrory, 28, was snared with cocaine and diamorphine at the property in Aberdeen on December 4 2021.
Officers acting on intelligence kept observations on a Seat Leon vehicle stopped outside of Macrory’s home.
Police then entered the property and found Macrory inside wearing a pair of gloves.
During a search five packages in a JD Sports bag were recovered from under the kitchen sink.
Prosecutor Craig Murray told the High Court in Glasgow: “Four were of cocaine with purity of 74 and 77% and weighed 4,067 grams.
“The fifth package was diamorphine with 51% purity and weighed 999.18 grams.”
A smaller nine-gram bag of cocaine was also recovered with a purity of 77%.
Other drug paraphernalia was found including gloves, bags and scales.
‘He was acting as a custodian for the drugs’
Mr Murray told the court that the maximum value of the four packages of cocaine was £500,000.
The diamorphine meantime is able to reach a value of £50,000.
The smaller bag of cocaine was valued at £1,100.
Macrory – who had no analogous previous convictions – pled guilty today to charges of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and diamorphine.
Gareth Jones, defending, told the court that the smaller bag of cocaine was for personal use.
The advocate added: “He accepts by his plea that he was concerned in the supply of the larger number of drugs.
“He said he was acting as a custodian for the drugs.
“This was on the understanding he would receive a payment.
“The drugs were deposited a short time before the police arrived.”
Sentence was deferred pending background reports on the dad until next month at the High Court in Edinburgh.
Judge Lord Scott stated that the charges were “serious” and that a custodial sentence was likely.
Macrory was remanded in custody meantime.
