A yob caught smashing a car window assaulted a man who challenged him, leaving him with a “burst” nose.
Daniel McKay was spotted throwing an object through a passenger window of a car on Invercauld Road in Aberdeen, smashing the glass.
But when a member of the public asked him why he’d done it and threatened to contact the police, the 20-year-old walked up and punched him in the face.
The blow left his victim with a “burst” nose.
Fiscal depute Lydia Ross told Aberdeen Sheriff Court the incident happened around 7.40pm on August 6 last year.
‘Punched him directly to the face’
She said: “The accused was observed to be standing next to the vehicle.
“He was observed to throw an item through the passenger window, causing it to break.
“The witness who observed this happening stopped his vehicle, put his window down and asked the accused why he’d done that.”
The man told McKay he would contact the police and took a photo.
But McKay approached his car and “punched him directly to the face, causing his nose to burst”.

The matter was then reported police who attended, were shown the photo and traced and arrested McKay.
His victim did not require medical attention for his injury.
McKay, of Invercauld Road, Aberdeen, pled guilty to charges of vandalism and assault to injury.
Defence agent Michael Burnett said his client was a first-offender.
He added: “His recollection is somewhat vague due to alcohol consumption.
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin ordered him to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
