A woman has appeared in court accused of attempted murder after another woman was allegedly stabbed during a street fight in Aberdeen.
Candice Seers was arrested after police were called to a disturbance on the city’s Hutcheon Street, around 12.50am on Tuesday May 30.
The 36-year-old is facing two charges – including assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder, and having a bladed or pointed article in a public place.
A woman, 33, remains in a serious condition at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary today.
Appearing in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Wednesday afternoon, Seers – who lives in Aberdeen – made no plea and was remanded in custody.
A fight broke out
On Tuesday, police tape was draped across a section of Hutcheon Street, opposite the Mounthooly roundabout.
A road closure began at 3.35am, forcing motorists to find an alternative way through the city and local bus services were also affected.
Forensic investigators dressed in white suits could be seen working within the police cordon, probing the alleged crime scene.
Witnesses told The Press and Journal about a suspected argument that reportedly involved five women.
It started shortly before 1am, they said.
A 37-year-old man, who was earlier arrested in connection with the incident, was released without charge.
Candice Seers will reappear in court within the next eight days.
