A couple with four children were caught selling heroin from their Inverness home after a covert police operation Inverness Sheriff Court heard yesterday.
Soran Abdullah, 32, and Shevon Fraser, 26, admitted dealing the diamorphine at 115 Benula Road, Inverness between January 28 and March 6, last year.
Abdullah, who admitted a previous drugs conviction, was jailed for 37 weeks by Sheriff Margaret Neilson.
Fraser was ordered to carry 100 hours of unpaid work and placed under supervision for 18 months as a direct alternative to custody.
The police raid revealed a bag containing 9.8grammes of diamorphine with a street value of up to £930.
The court was told when customers arrived at the house, Fraser would meet them, hand over the drugs and then give the money to her partner.
Abdullah’s defence agent Willie Young said: “He started gambling what little money he and his partner had and ran up debts of £1,000.”
The solicitor said the people he was associating with used drugs and he sold them to clear his debts.
Marc Dickson, solicitor for Fraser said her involvement in the operation was limited.
