A man who was banned by a court from using equipment that could access the internet after threatening to post sexual photographs of a woman online, broke the internet ban order.
John Devaney, 39, of Cairnbhan, Albany Street, Oban yesterday pleaded guilty to breaking the bail condition at Oban Sheriff Court.
Devaney did not appear in person as he was attending his grandmother’s funeral in Glasgow, but solicitor Laura McManus entered a guilty plea on his behalf.
Devaney admitted that, having been granted bail under a condition not to have any access to any device capable of accessing the internet, he did on June 22 at home, have access to two mobile phones capable of accessing the internet.
He previously pleaded guilty to sending text messages of a grossly offensive or obscene or menacing nature, by swearing and uttering abusive and sexual remarks, and threatening to post sexual pictures of the woman on the internet on December 2.
The delivery driver also admitted intentionally causing her son to look at a sexual image of her, by sending him the picture on December 3.
Sheriff Ruth Anderson deferred sentence on all charges until Monday September 28.
