A farmer and business director who butted his wife was admonished at Oban Sheriff Court yesterday.
Joachim Brolly, 58, of Torran Farm, Ford, denied assaulting Sheila Brolly at Torran Farm on October 8 last year but was convicted in April after a trial that heard of the breakdown of the couple’s marriage.
Mrs Brolly, 58, told the court that she had been married to Brolly for 38 years, but that in recent years the relationship was unstable, with her living in the farmhouse and him at Torran Bay Hostel, their tourism business.
She described him head-butting her and leaving her with a broken nose.
Sentence had been deferred until today for good behaviour.
Brolly said that the situation with the marriage breakdown had “calmed down” adding that solicitors were attempting to resolve the situation.
Sheriff Ruth Anderson said: “In these circumstances I will admonish.”
