An Inverness businessman has denied stalking a former employee by texting her, turning up at her home and rummaging through her bins.
Brian MacGregor is accused of causing former employee and business associate Jolanta Hadzic fear and alarm with his alleged behaviour between July 1, 2014 and August 27 this year.
The offences are said to have happened at various locations in Inverness, including Grant Street, Nelson Street and MacGregor’s home at Bogbain Farm, Inshes.
The 71-year-old denied the single charge when he appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
It alleges he repeatedly messaged and e-mailed Ms Hadzic, and published articles online that were offensive to her.
He is also said to have travelled to Glasgow to meet her, despite being told she did not want to see him – and then allegedly telling he had reported her as a missing person after she refused to meet him.
MacGregor is also accused of approaching Ms Hadzic on Grant Street and driving past her on the Black Bridge, and then slowing down and staring at her in an intimidating manner.
It is also alleged he approached a man and making derogatory allegations about the woman’s character, and accused her of stealing money and a laptop from him.
It is further alleged MacGregor visited Ms Hadzic’s flat in the city and rummaged through external bins before removing items, and tried to get a man to allow him to enter the flat.
He is also accused of approaching Ms Hadzic’s landlord and attempting to obtain her whereabouts from him.
The charge further alleges that the woman’s solicitor and police officers requested him to stop all contact with her, but he continued to send e-mails and indicated they could not stop him.
His case will call again on November 27, and a trial has been set for next March.
