A Moray teenager has been detained for almost nine months after admitting a string offences.
James Stewart, 19, of 82 Coulardhill, Lossiemouth, admitted dangerously tailgating and overtaking a car on the A941 Elgin-Rothes road near the Ben Riach Distillery junction in the face of oncoming traffic.
He also admitted driving without a licence or insurance in the incident on December 5 last year, which ended with him colliding with both cars.
At an earlier hearing at Elgin Sheriff Court Stewart also admitted a racially-aggravated assault on a worker at the Polish Deli in the town’s Commerce Street in May 2013 while he was drunk.
The dad also admitted an assault outside Buckie Community Centre in April this year which left his victim with a bleeding nose.
He also admitted failing to appear at court after the incident and a charge of threatening behaviour.
Stewart, who appeared in court from custody, was detained for a total of 257 days, backdated to September 14 and disqualified from driving for a year.
