A Drumnadrochit man avoided a jail sentence but had his £600 car forfeited after he admitted his third drink driving offence at Inverness Sheriff Court.
Warren Daley, of No 1, The Loft, Glenn of Furness, Lewiston, was caught behind the wheel when he was almost four times the legal drink-drive limit near his home on November 14.
Sheriff David Sutherland ordered the 43-year-old to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work, disqualified him from driving for five years, placed him under supervision for three years and banned him from drinking alcohol for a year.
He was also told he must undergo alcohol treatment if required by his supervising social worker.
