Alexander Stewart, 30, was also banned from driving for a year, after pleading guilty. The court was told that he was spotted in Wick by police shortly after midnight on December 22 and they followed him to the town’s Murchison Street. Stewart, of 51 Bruce Gardens, Inverness, was admonished on a second charge of having no insurance. Sheriff Andrew Berry commented on the accused extensive record of road traffic offences and failure to comply with court orders. Stewart’s sentence was backdated to December 24 when he was remanded.
