A 34 year old Nairn man who got involved in a minor altercation in the town’s High Street was traced by police and found to have a knife in his pocket.
Alan Wiseman, 10 Riverside Court admitted, on indictment at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday, illegal possession of the bladed article without reasonable excuse in a public place on April 6 last year.
Fiscal Roderick Urquhart said: “A member of the public on the way to the undertakers saw the altercation and the knife in Wiseman’s pocket.
“It was reported to police and he was traced to Moss-side Brae. As the officers approached him, the knife could be clearly seen.”
Sentence was deferred until February 4 for a background report and defence lawyer Willie Young reserved his plea of mitigation until then.
