A north-east businessman has been told to stay out of trouble after he was caught growing cannabis at his Aberdeen home.
Mark Jones, who is the managing director of an export company, appeared at the city’s sheriff court yesterday and admitted cultivating and possessing the class B drugs.
The court heard that the 41-year-old had started using cannabis as pain relief after a car crash.
And between June and July last year, Jones started to produce the illicit substance for himself in order to avoid having contact with dealers.
The court heard that when police raided his house at 51 Gordon Road, Aberdeen, they discovered six plants growing inside.
Sheriff William Taylor deferred sentence on Jones for a year to allow him to be of good behaviour.
