A police raid on an Inverness flat discovered a Liverpool man with almost 50 grams of heroin with a maximum value of £4,830 and almost £4,000 in cash.
Stephen Corrie, 30, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday and admitted, on indictment, being concerned in the supply of diamorphine between November 13 and November 26 last year.
He had sentence deferred until April 5 for a background report and was remanded in custody.
Two other people, a man and a woman, were also in possession of cannabis in the Torvean Avenue flat but Corrie told detectives that the pair knew nothing about his drugs.
The other two people who were arrested by police are also being prosecuted on other charges
Fiscal Roderick Urquhart told Sheriff David Sutherland that the ground floor flat at 118 Torvean Avenue, Inverness may be a familiar address to the court, having featured previously in court cases.
He said that Corrie was found in one of the bedrooms which had a mattress on the floor and where the majority of the drugs and cash were found.
He went on: “About 9.00 p.m. on Thursday, 26th November 2015 four police constables arrived at 118 Torvean Avenue, Inverness, to execute an apprehension warrant for the female householder.
“The constables could hear movement within but there was no answer to knocking and their identifying themselves as police.
“The front door was then forced. The other man was found in the living room and the woman and Corrie were found in the back bedroom.
“What appeared to be cannabis was found in the possession of the woman when she was arrested and in the possession of the other man.
“In the front bedroom which was usually occupied by Corrie, the constables could see in open view a large quantity of cash and a set of digital scales on the chest of drawers.”
Mr Urquhart said that in total 48.4 grams of heroin was recovered along with four bundles of cash containing £130, £150, £815 and £2,640.
