A man has appeared in court, following a robbery which took place in Peterhead this week.
Andrew Christie sat in the dock in Peterhead Sheriff Court at a private hearing yesterday where he made no plea or declaration.
The 26-year-old was arrested by officers investigating a theft in the port on Tuesday morning when a 62-year-old woman had her handbag stolen as she walked through Harbour Street.
She was not injured, but was left shaken.
Christie also faces two other charges of robbery.
Last night, a spokeswoman for the police confirmed Christie’s alleged crimes had taken place over several days.
She said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 26-year-old man has been charged in relation to three incidents of robbery in the Peterhead area over the last few days.”
Christie, whose address was given as the Peterhead area in court papers, is expected to appear in court again in the next seven days.
