A care home worker appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court yesterday charged with assaulting two pensioners. Aneta Fortuniak allegedly assaulted the Spynie Court care home residents in Elgin in August last year. The 43-year-old is claimed to have seized 83-year-old Aileen Marshall by the wrists, roughly manhandled her and dragged her across a bed. It is alleged she also put her hand across her mouth to stop her shouting and injured the pensioner. Fortuniak is further accused of slapping 90-year-old Robert Scott on the face on the same date. Fortuniak, of Unit 9 Cameron Park Brae, Elgin, denies both offences and is due to go on trial next month.
