A Dufftown man has been fined after being caught with an extreme pornographic film featuring bestiality.
Mervyn Wilson, 63, admitted owning the DVD when he appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court.
Fiscal Alison Wylie presented the cover of the disk to the court yesterday explaining it would “speak for itself”.
Mrs Wylie said the video was found while police searched Wilson’s home on July 14 last year. The disk was found hidden among paperwork in an office.
Defence solicitor Brent Lockie said his client had bought the video from a street market in Thailand in 2003 out of “morbid curiosity” and foolishly did not throw it away when it became illegal in 2011.
Sheriff Donald Ferguson said: “Thankfully these are rare offences to come before the court.”
Wilson, of The Gables, Lettoch, Dufftown, was fined £400 for possessing an extreme pornographic video showing explicit or realistic sexual activity between a person and an animal.
