A 27-year-old registered sex offender failed to comply with notification requirements for a second time after he went on holiday with his partner.
At an earlier court, Allan MacLeod, formerly of Telford Street in Inverness but now living at 6/12 Academy Street, Edinburgh was fined £200 for failing to advise his reporting officer of a change of address when he went abroad on holiday last July.
But he was also required to notify the authorities that he was leaving the country and yesterday at Inverness Sheriff Court, the hotel barman admitted that charge.
His lawyer, Mike Chapman, explained that his client misunderstood the requirement and thought since he was only going for a weekend, he thought he had seven days to give the notification.
He was fined another £200.
